Born and raised in Miami, Florida in 1989, Jesse moved to St. Petersburg in 2008 to attend University of South Florida.

Jesse grew up in a family of Jewish activists for social justice who influenced him to take action to change the world.

During his childhood in Miami, Jesse witnessed the grave disparities faced by poor and oppressed communities in Liberty City and Overtown and searched for ways to become politically active. He focused his efforts on voter registration drives.

In 2010 Jesse joined the Uhuru Solidarity Movement,

a national organization that mobilizes support from the white community for the black (African) community-led struggle for self-reliance, political and economic power, and reparations under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party.

Jesse became passionate about the issue of reparations after attending an event on the USF campus featuring Omali Yeshitela, the founder and leader of the Uhuru Movement and a living legend of the black freedom struggle in St. Petersburg.

In 2013 Jesse became the National Chair of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement,

coordinating branches of USM throughout the U.S., hitting the streets in his community as well as traveling throughout the country on speaking tours to generate support for campaigns of social justice and reparations to the black community.

Jesse has appeared on national and international media outlets to speak out against police violence, mass incarceration, economic inequality, and wars at home and abroad.

As the chair of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement,

Jesse has led forums, educational seminars, demonstrations, rallies, and radio programs to educate the white community on our responsibility to rectify our relationship to African people and the oppressed peoples of the world.

Once in office, Jesse will implement a program for reparations to the black community to replace the failed policies of police containment and gentrification imposed on the south side by the city government.

Jesse aims to work for a city where a prosperous future is available to all,

no community benefitting at the expense of another.

Jesse is a committed, hard-working, passionate, well-known and much respected organizer in St. Petersburg. He is ready to bring radical transformation to a city that is ready for the future.
